I am looking into getting a Syrian hamster in a few weeks time and not sure what cage to get! What cages do people really like and what would people recommend?

Alexander! I adore it :D
Its 100cm by 50cm so has loads of space, has shelves, bars, small bar spacing, a deep base... Its my favourite cage on the market by quite a fair bit :)

Mm, I do really like the look of an Alexander! Quite expensive though, that's my only problem!

Most big cages are £60 or so though, so £70 (as it currently is) isn't too bad really. It might be cheaper on the other zooplus sites too - we got three for £60 each from the German site a while ago :D

The Barney is great but if you have the space for an Alexander, I would get that. :D

A bin cage? Buy yourself a good big storage bin (when I say big, I mean big) and with a little DIY, you can make an excellent hamster cage at an incredible price. :)

I think I am going to look into a Barney..I don't have enough space for an Alexander :D Where is the best place to get them? The cheapest place I mean ;)

I think zooplus might be the only place for them?

The Barney cage definitely is a great one! :D
Mine came from Germany (though I ordered it from Denmark) and it arrived in great shape. I also got the 12" Wonderland wheel and it's wonderful!

The Alexander by a mile. I wasn't too keen on the houses and shelves that came with it. They were good quality but not the look I wanted. Mine have a rustic look to them now.

Stan loves his zoozone 2, and I prefere it to wired cages because there's no so much room for things to fall out :)

It was a hard choice between the Barney and the Alexander, but think I'm going for the Alexander, I've heard a lot of great things about it! Thanks all :)
