I can't wait to get snapping some shots of her I'm not really good with colours genetics and coats so when I take some pics I'm sure someone will be able to tell.

All I have noticed about her is that one of her wee eyes as like some sort of stickiness on it as its stuck together and the other one is opened wide so not sure what's causing that.

I'd say, keep an eye on her, & get it checked out if it's still sticky tomorrow, get it checked out at the vets. Or maybe you should post photos of her now so we can all look at her eye ;-)

Where did he get her from?

If you got her from P@H and the eye is still like it in a few days, I would ring them up or go down there and tell them you want her seen by the vet. On the contract you sign, I think you have 7 days in which to let them know about any problems and they should sort it out.

I have some pics of her there not very good as every time I go near her she screams like mad and when I leave her alone and walk past her house she goes mental :( oh and her eye seems to look ok today.

Thank you I still haven't a clue what we are going to name her I had one thought but I don't like it which was fox as in the mints with polar bear on the front.

Does anyone know if there's any threads about taming a screaming hamster?

She is very cute. She's a flesh eared white :) (FEW) I would say she is older than they told you too and this is likely why she is so untame as she has been there longer without handling. Whites are often not as popular but I think they are lovely :)
It will take a bit longer but I'd start with the scented tissue to get her used to your scent. Then move on to the lift and lay then gradually to the handling and running her hand to hand. She will settle with patience. A screaming hamster will bite so take care. She is just very frightened. Once you can get her out you can lie in the bath and let her walk on you. Have a look at the taming tips in the WIKI which you find on the list of the left of the forum.
Names ...hmm..Polo, Minty, ...I'm sure she will soon grow a name :)

Thank you And I will try the the taming tips and I think that is why my bf got her I love wee white animals :)

Oh another question would FEW be the result of bad breeding?

By any chance by the pics would you be able to tell or would that be impossible?

And I quite like the name polo :)

Hello cutie!!!

Ren

No it isn't a result of bad breeding. :) It's just another type of white hamster. In Sweden she'd be called brown-eared red eyed white (bö rö vit). Good luck with the taming!

As Ren says it is just another colour caused by a gene called cd. She will actually have a colour genetically hidden by the white. It isn't down to bad breeding or anything - it's just the colour she is like some of us are black haired and some blonde :)
