Hi, my friend is rescuing 2 rats from a friend of a friend (who treats them rather badly) and we need cage recommendations that are as cheap as possible. I've not had rats in years, and don't know minimum cage requirements or anything.

hoping someone can give me some base line advice, or point me somewhere that i can get relevant information so these rats have a happy home.

Please??

For 2 rats I'd say either a Jenny 2 cage or critter 2 cage would be sufficient.

2.5 Level LazyBones Cage For Ferrets Rats Chinchillas | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5-Level-LazyBones-Cage-Ferrets-Rats-Chinchillas-/230740617310?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item35b936685e)

Don't put them on sawdust, use megazorb or finacard. Avoid diets too rich in meat proteins (too much protein isn't good, check the ingredients on muselis).

This is a decent rat forum
