Pipsqueak Update (PICS!)

I think Pip is a boy! :D Although I hoped for a girl, I'm happy. :p He's so tiny! Bless him, especially compared to Oscar who's just a fatty. ;)

He no longer screams or hisses at me and he will follow me around quite happily. He is very nippy still but he's only young so we can work on that. :D He loves mealworms and millet, he will demolish a millet spray within 30 minutes or so. :mad:

He's MAD! He'll run on his wheel for hours and has short bursts of running around his cage like a loony. He then climbs on his wooden house, monkey bars on the top of his cage and then throws himself off! I do worry about him a lot but he's always okay. :)

He's got lighter in the 2 weeks or so I've had him too.

He was very wriggly so only 80% sure on sex tbh, will check at a later date. :D

He's gorgeous though and his personality of being crazy is so similar to Snickers'. :mad:

Thank you. :D And that's a good idea, will try but doubt it will work as he wriggles so much it might blur. :mad: I could scruff him so I can sex him myself easily but tbh it's easier and less stress to wait until he's tamed. :D

Oh and for sexing not-remotely-tame hamsters I've found putting them in their ball or a clear bowl/jug e.t.c and looking up at them works surprisingly well.
Our robos were so bad when we got them that we're still working on Whizz confidently letting us near the cage now (nearly six months on). So I checked their sexes by holding them up when in their balls.
Proved Skip to be the male we were told he was, and Whizz to be female (when we'd been confidently told she was male).

If you're happy to wait then that sounds good too though :)
I just decided to find alternate ways since waiting for Skip and Whizz to be tame enough would probably have taken at least a year lol

lol clearly smarter than our lot then...

Our russians still fall for the "magic hamster mover" which is just a toilet roll tube with a small plant pot (firmly) stuck on the end. Hold it out by them and they walk straight in. Same usually goes for hamster balls and anything else we offer them.

Ah well, at least the idea might have been useful lol

Two of ours did that! Funnily enough, they're the two who are more WW than Campbells lol
Dusty is much lighter grey now, and Bump is a bit lighter, just less so.
