Is anyone going to Kingswinford tomorrow?

I managed to get my entries in on time so we'll be there. We are taking Caramel, Rolo and Turner for the main show - plus Minnie for her first show!

We also have some pets - Tinsel and Syrup who belong to friends but Will and Patrick would also like to enter Mars and Button into pets (they are still too young for the main show). The thing is they are still happy living together at 9 weeks so we'd have to take them together - would this be a problem?

Wish I could be there! Say hi to Gill and everyone from me, and see you at Mapplewell the Saturday after! :D

Too far for us Holly. To be honest I would not take the two hamsters together as there is a possibility they would ask you to separate them in case 'Joe Public' got the wrong idea that they could keep syrians together. Especially if the pet judge did not want the owners present. You could always ask beforehand of the show secretary and maybe put a sign on the cage saying 'these hamsters are baby brothers. Normally syrians are not kept together or something like that. Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how it goes

Shame neither of you will be there.

I have emailed the show sec to ask about the situation with Mars and Button so I'll go with what she advises. I don't want to separate them just because we want to take them to the show - they are both incredibly laid back together though I know it won't last! We are planning to separate them at 10 weeks either way then Patrick can take his baby home

Well the show sec says it will be fine to bring them both together and she will explain the situation to the judge....but, as it happens, Patrick's not feeling well and isn't coming tomorrow after all - so Will is taking Smartie instead!

We had a really great time, everyone was extemely friendly and chatty and I spent a while picking the brains of Pete Logsdail and David (the other half of Tristar) as well as getting a sneak peak at Decmeber's journal, which looks great. It was alos nice chatting to Bunsey and her mum and Internet Nobody from HH.

We also bought three second hand Syrian pens and a carrier so I have some work to do before next Saturday!

All three children won a rosette in pets and we won 1st 2nd and 3rd Syrian Novice and came 2nd in dwarf Novice (behind Bunsey's famous Paddy)....which all sounds wonderful until I tell you that there were only 3 entrants in Syrian Novice and two in Dwarf!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a great day and we hope to get to a few more Midland shows next year.

congratulations Julie and Wills. Sounds like you had a great time, and wish I could have been there (in the hopes of at least taking one of your novice awards lol).
That rabbit is HUGE!

Gosh those are fantastic. Well done Bunsey. You have very handsome hammies! Haven't seen the journal yet! We have never had a Best in Show. Pophammy has had quite a few juniors and one Reserve best in show!

The rosettes at Midland were extremely impressive - I was talking to Chris about them - she actually recyles them from dog/cat shows and anywhere else she can get them from - ours have got lacy bits on them!

I was also talking to the rabbit owner - I assumed he'd be a house rabbit as well but he isn't - they custom built and large hutch and run for him themsleves. He's only young and will apparently grow a lot bigger  (he's a British Giant).
