I know it's early but hey that's me :P

Who's going?

Think me and Trina might go...think I might enter Charlie into pets.

Was reading the schedule thingy on the tinternet and pet judging is at 11:30 oooh early lol. Only thing is I couldn't find the postcode? Anyone got it?

We will definitely be there, Jane - I was down to work (shock horror!) but a kind friend has swapped shifts with me so we are going now 8)

Apparently it's the Christmas party (is fancy dress optional?? :P ) and we are also going to the Midland Xmas party at Kingswinford the weekend before. Our little guys will be 10 weeks old the day before Mapplewell (and Minnie will 11 wks) so, depending on how they are doing, I may bring some of them to their first show

I don't know the postcode - I don't have a show schedule for it yet and the postcode isn't on October's schedule.

Hmm..what will be different cos it's the xmas party?

Well apparently Dickie Bird may show up (ask your Dad lol) and Pophammy will be making christmas cards with the kids (Rose has said she'll help)
~The hamsters will all be dressed up as Santa (males) or angels (females) and the dwarfs will have to dress up as elves!!

(I may have made the last bit up! but it would be quite cool if it were true 8) )

Try this postcode - its for the primaryu school, but this is down the same street (Blacker road) in Mapplewell, so wont take you far wrong. We found it quite easily

Yes Dickie Bird our honorary president will be coming in the morning. He may even be the the pet judge and I expect the localpress will come too  . The show will be similar to the usual show but there is a buffet for members and hopefully some fun activities. Hope you can come Jane and Trina.

I was going to ask Souffle what craft stuff you'd like us to bring to help with the cards? I can either just bring some general stuff and glue sticks etc. but if PH has any specific ideas (she being so arty!) then let us know and we would love to contribute :x

i can't decide whether to come or not, with it being so far, but it's the last one for a fair few months :?

i think i've decided to go!! we'll be showing max, paddy and oscar :D

I've been thinking about who to take as it's just a week after their last show. Caramel is a definite as she's our highest scorer and shows don't seem to faze her at all. I'm thinking of giving Rolo and Minnie the week off (Minnie especially seemed a little stressed by Kingswinford (though she scored ok for a 10 week old - 70 points).

Soooo...do I bring our babies? At 10 weeks old they are obviously still very young and not big enough to score well but I'd like to get them used to being shown while they are young. I'd also like to bring Toby (see my other post) but he'll only be 9 weeks old so he isn't actually old enough. :?

Toby is old enough as he is over 6wks though I've never seen anyone show at 6wks! He would go in non-standard so would be last judged. See how he settles then decide!

yeah i'll see how well oscar settles in. at the mo i think he's a bit overwhelmed by it all and needs to just spend some calm time in his cage. we put him in his ball but he didn't understand and just went to sleep. poor boy

Talking of which - just a reminder that last date for entries is on Thursday - luckily quite a late one so you can both make a final decision after they have settled a little.
Would love to see them both, but I'm sure I will sooner or later!

I thought 10 weeks was the minimum age for the main show? If it isn't then I'll consider taking Toby as he's so laid back I don't think it would bother him at all!

I'm not sure which of our babies to take - Smartie is a shocker as she looks noticeably bigger by the day so we may bring her and the boys...and possibly Milly. I'm definitely giving Minnie the day off as she hasn't really settled since Saturday (she's awake now  ).

I've never had the problem of deciding who to bring before :?

guess what i've gone and done... not entered the show!

i think we won't go now, it's too far to only enter pets. i can't believe it. i was expecting to get back at 8pm from picking harriette up. i left it til today to make a decision about oscar. oh, i'm so disappointed

Oh what a shame Amy!
Well, hope you somehow manage to wrangle it! :?
And hope you are making friends with Harriet. Bet it is nice to finally have her home!

Oh no! Hope you managed to get something sorted Amy and that we do see you tomorrow.

I've been busy this week painting show pens and getting organised as we are taking our largest ever show contingent - 7 Syrians and 1 WW plus 3 Syrians for pets

I don't expect we'll do terribly well - they are all very young - but it's going to be interesting to see how our own babies actually do in a show - for the first time I'm entered in the Breeder class which is quite exciting!

Was there something on Calender News about it earlier? I didn't see it but my parents said there was something about hammies and it said the northern hammy show?? Do tell :P

Well we had a lovely day and yes, Calendar was there to film part of it, including an item on the hamster racing!

Dickie Bird was there, and there was a lovely buffet.

I brought my litter to be looked at by experienced breeders and they went down really well, and Butterbean won a third place in her class of 15, plus I got second in the novice class. dubaku did really well to get a third place in his class.

We missed you and Charlie though Jane

Yeah my parents said they were on about hammy racing on it.

Wish we could have been there guys.

Well done Spud's Mum :D
