Harry has been getting a little more confident being around me now, and although not happy to be picked up regularly yet he will let me handle him on occasion :D I am very pleased. I also ordered him new bedding (aspen) and filled his Rody cage with bedding which he seems to love :D He spent all afternoon and evening yesterday burrowing and running about in the now buried tubes. Here are some piccies of the little man and his cage, any feedback would be appreciated as to whether I should change anything, do something different or whatever :D I'm still hoping to move him into a bigger cage but won't be doing that until Harry is a little less terrified of his own shadow!

Ans apparently after burrowing in all that bedding he needed a snack

Oh - i am also pleased to report that Harry has trained himself to use one corner of his cage as a toilet :D Only thing is he thinks the best place for his toilet is right behind his water bottle

Thank you :D It meant I was able to remove the green shelf thing and give him more floor space :D

Ooooh what a cutie! Glad to hear he's coming along. My little girl is starting to trust me now, it's a wonderful feeling isn't it?

Peek a boo Harry! He looks great Roz and it won`t be too long before he sees you as a treat feeder! He`s coming along great.

Edited to add: Is that Supahamster Harvest I see in his dish? Looks familiar!

It's not all supahamster harvest April, still weaning Harry off the nasty P@H stuff

I was feeling really good about Harry coming around and letting me near him, but he gave me a really nasty nip last night :( Back to the drawing board I guess! At least he is a lot happier in his little rody than he was in a glass cage thingy with no toys in P@H - even if I can't handle him except for a health check it's all I'm bothered about, him being happy :)

He does sound like an independent wee man Roz. Have you tried allowing him to explore your sleeve? Prinny makes a mad dash for my pyjama sleeve every night and I have to stand over her tank while she rummages around and has a nip at my arm just for good measure! I can gently scoop her up though and give kisses and then place her down again, when she gets her little treat of half a mealworm or a puffed rice! She then runs the full length of the tank to her `stash` corner to hide her treats and then emerges again looking for my other sleeve!!! She`s like a little mad beetle!

Maybe if Harry was allowed to do this, he might start to realise that his mummy is a fun play tower and not something to fear or attack? I don`t know if it would change his behaviour, but it`s worth a go! get yourself a long sleeved pyjama top (or a slack sleeved top) and see if he will climb in?

Thanks for the suggestion April, but I already tried that as I remembered what you said about Prinny running up your sleeves! Harry seemed pretty scared by me trying it. He seems to like doing his own thing too much. I opened his rody on my bed last night near some play boxes. He waspretty quick in discovering that he could climb out and run around for a while then went happily back to bed. So at least he is getting some playtime!

Sounds good! Maybe once he gets into the routine of being let out and realises that you are not a monster he will settle down a bit!
