Saturday was supposed to be Emley hamster show, but this was cancelled so the hamster club found a new venue at Hoyland. The show was great, though there wasn't as many entries as some shows due to the venue change and some people not being about to make it. Best in Show and Best Opposite Sex Syrian went to Tristar Hamstery, and BIS and BOS Junior went to Dan's Hams. BIS Dwarf went to Tristar as well, and BOS to Midnight Stud (littlemissdwarfhamster on this site). I was pleased to get one first, two seconds and three thirds!!! Littlemissdwarfhamster was Syrian Judge (maybe she will tell you more about judging) and I was pen steward. This involves taking the hamster pens for a certain class over to the judging bench, cleaning the judging frames, putting the prize stickers on the pens and putting them in order of points once they have been judged. It is good fun and a good way to learn about judging the hamsters as you can watch and listen to the judge.

Anyway, here are some pics from the day!

No, they didn't have a pet show Jane as not many people who don't show their hams turned up! Just as well you didn't come, though you could have entered in the racing!

I really enjoyed the judging, there were some lovely hamsters. I was quite amazing at the whiteness of some of the white syrians - I am sure their owner had bathed them in Daz!!!!

Looking forward to Rotherham. I am not doing anything other than relax that day as i get back from my holiday the day before.

Yes, we will be at Rotherham too! We went last year and thought it was a great show because it is not just hamsters but lots of other exhibition tents! I'm pretty sure there will be a pet class there Jane.

Yeah we went to the Rotherham show last year too - mainly just because we live in rotherham and it's really close, didn't go for the hammies (well, as a family we didn't, but they all knew that secretly that was why I went along LOL but they still said no to me buying any of the hammies :P)

Hi Pophammy - well as you said I do think you saw us on Saturday, in your first photo you have got a photo of Arti, Rose (and my posterior - thanks   ) had a good time - and you did well didn't you? We will maybe take a hamster to Rotherham, I'm not sure. will see how they behave before hand and if they don't rub the fur off their noses gnawing at bars. see you there anyway!
