Heya all!

As written a while ago, Scruffy had to be put separate due to being wounded after fighting with White.
Scruffy is in an aquarium, which is not big at all. I fashioned a shelf out of lollypop sticks which created some more room, but I still felt it was too small for her.
And I had some old FOP cages from Messy and Runner in the closet. What to do?

I've made a hole in the bottom of the FOP cage to connect it with the aquarium, meshed the bars completely and voila! Scruffy now has got a right down palace!
Here are the piccies:

Aquarium view, in this she had her wheel, and food and mini sandbath on the shelf before:

I have created a hole with a simple stanley knife. Takes some time and care, but the result is perfect. After than I sanded it down to get rid of any sharp bits

I have not put too much in yet, I want her to get used to it first.
When she was waking up and the cage was ready, she did not know what to do at all! Her wheel was gone (upstairs), her food and sandbath were gone (upstairs), and she did not seem to understand the little wooden stairs yet. So she ran in circles with a rigid amount of desperation, got up on her plateau, scared of the stairs, got down again, ran circles, got up her plateau, laid 1 foot on the stairs, scared, got down again, ran circles, etc, etc.
It took her half an hour to actually reach the top, but boy was it worth it!
She was zooming around relentlessly, happy in her wheel, happy with her new found space, completely hyper.
This morning when I woke up from work she was the only one still bashing about. When I opened up the curtains to let in some light she looked at me as if to say ''is it REALLY bed time? :(''. She went downstairs again to the aquarium and shuffled in to her coconut house which she has almost completely buried under megazorb.

So I can say this is certainly a success and happy ending!

Here some cute piccies of her to top it of:

Looks really nice,I bought a cage yesterday, sames size as my Dwarfs tank and was planing to do something along the same line as you with it,How did you make the entrance from the tank to the Top cage, did you cut a hole in the base ? beacuse that's my problem,I don't know how to get a entrance from the bottom to the top.

Nagrom, I have used a simple stanley knife to cut a hole. Be very careful to use it though, and start with undeep cuts first to create a straight line. After that you can put some more pressure on it. Be certain to have something covering the bottom as well so je don't carve in to anything that is underneath (I used a chopping board).
