I think that Alca is either a Rex or a Long Hair. Hard to tell at the moment due to the young age.
I forgot to mention that. :roll:

I chose the name Alcatraz because she tried to escape 3 times on the way home. you should have seen the state of the travel box.
She is settling in nicely to her new home. Of course she is not sleeping in the spudix (or whatever you call it) but sleeping under it...that ham can squash very flat. :x

Aww, she's gorgeous! I think she is a longhair golden. Does she have curly whiskers? If so she is a rex. We saw the island of Alcatraz recently when we went to San Francisco! Also, if you go to the hamster Articles section there are some pictures of rexes in the 'What Colour is my Hamster?' Article.

EDIT: Here is a link to the article! If you go down to the section on rexes and click on the third picture you can clearly see the curly whiskers.

She does not have curly whiskers so she must be a long hair.
I know I should not have got her...my OT had a hairy fit back at the "Hamsterzone" as he know calls our home...but who could resist such a cutie? :D :wink:
I thought that she was a golden as she has the same markings as Gizmo who is a dark golden..it was just the hair type that I was not sure of. The owner said that she was a cross breed runt but he was unsure what type of cross breed she was..typical men!
She has a lovely personality. She has been sitting quite the thing in by hand and loves to sit in a tissue box.
She finally discovered her wheel earlier and is already going mad in it...apart from whe the wheel gets the better of her.
I keep thinking that she is older than her age as her furry apperance makes her seem bigger. The other half could not get over her actuak size once he held her...of course Alca just had to have a taste of him...every single ham has tried to take a chunk out of him. :roll:
