I am thinking about homing a dwarf hammy if I see one needing a fur-ever home locally, mostly a chinese little guy. Yet I am unsure on the dimensions for a bin cage for them as i have no idea about dwarfies.

I have an ikea plastic box that could possibly be okay, its 57x 39x 28 cm? I think the dimensions are similar to a duna?
Its already got a possible mesh lid (the bottom mesh floor for my rats critter 3 cage which was never used).
And do they like having shelves?
Thanks for any help

I'd say something 70x40cm for a dwarf, although my Chinese is fine in a Duna. I'd maybe have a removable shelf, they like to hide but you'd need to remove it in order to get them out. :)

The mini duna that our dwarf is in is 55 x 39x27 so 57cm should be fine for one dwarf:D

I like 70x40 cages such as zoozone1, duna multy, gabber rex, imac bingo
