Meet Izzie Behr! (Grey's Anatomy *hint hint* Katherine Heigl plays Izzie Stevens.)

That's my girl! :) She's a long haired white syrian with a tan head. She was in a cage with three(I think) of her sisters at the pet store. She was much smaller than the two I did get a better look at, but she was the one being the most active and being a goof in the tank. She even gave herself a mohawk the first moment I saw her. She was just too active, she was adorable. She went into the hut the others were sleeping in and started moving it a couple inches to the right on them, lol.
While in the box on the way home, she kept sticking her paw and nose out. :)
I'm going to be leaving her alone for a few days so she can settle in and then begin taming... :)
She's just adorable, and I was wanting a long haired syrian... I meant to get the one that was advertised at the humane society, but this girl was just too cute to pass up (her personality is adorable).

Most of these suck, but I didn't want to bother her too much.

And the cage she's in (she'll have a water bottle tomorrow, the pet store I got her at didn't have anything that would work)

Look! A semi-decent picture! :)

She is just adorable. What a lovely fluffy coat and a cute little face  I think she looks like a red eyed cream banded. The ears are mottled. Does she have a tiny touch of cream at the back somewhere?

She has black eyes, so she can't be a red eyed anything, lol.
I noticed a patch on her sister, and I think she may have a very light one.

She looked to have very dark red eyes in the pics. Must be the flash! She is gorgeous.

Yeah, it was just the flash giving her red eyes. My white dwarf gets red eyes too from the flash.

She looks lovely :)

Could she not be a dominant spot? Our friend has a SH dom-spot who has even less markings than Izzie - he's all white apart from a couple of brown splodges on his face....

I was thinking she is a Cream dominant spot long haired

The reason I thought she was banded is because nearly all the head is coloured and usually domi spots tend to have more just spots of colour on the head. They do vary a lot so it is hard to tell and she could even be both!!!

Is it possible to be both?
I'll be able to see her colour better in a couple days after she settles in and try to figure it out then.
I'll have better pictures too. :)

Berry.
Berry is supposed to be a cream roan and she had mottled ears :(
They do look similar to me.

I beleive it is possible to be both banded & dominant spot. The coloured bits would be mainly white with spots of color. It is hard to tell as versions of each can resemble the other!!!

They look simillar to me as well! I'd love to see really clear. close up shots of both of them for comparison.

I hadn't really had a proper look at a Roan hamster until Hoyland last weekend - there was a chocolate roan there who was absolutely gorgeous.

She really is lovely :)

She also really looks like she has red - or at least ruby/claret coloured eyes though - have you tried shining a light in them to see if they shine a reddish colour?

Or perhaps it's just the flash - but my black eyed hamsters eyes don't shine red like that under the flash.....

Berry's do, Holly, and they are definitely black eyes. Fuzzy's eyes are also black and shine red in the flash but the others don't. I was wondering if it was something to do with the anopthalic white gene because I have read that shining a torch into the eyes of a hamster that carries it can show a red glow. Maybe the flash does the same....

I agree, Izzy is a gorgeous hamster! :D

Well since I have gotten a better look at her eyes and they are a dark ruby colour in the light. I went to the pet store and noticed one of her sisters having red eyes and the other (maybe) black eyes (there were two left). I'm not a fan of red eyes, but I guess since they are a dark ruby colour it's okay. :)
