Introducing myself and Goku

On Tuesday I got myself a male chinese, who I've named Goku. He seems a tad on the quiet side but very calm about being handled, though he's yet to accept a treat off me. He spends about 90% of his waking hours in his wheel, not running as I'd hope. Instead it's become both his toilet and the place he keeps and eats his food. Filthy mite. I'm pretty chuffed that there's a section for chinese hamsters here as there doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there. Every website seems to have copied and pasted from the same article.

Haha. Yeah. Anything with eyes bigger than it's hands can be asian. Manga teaches us this. :p

Aw, what a handsome little man. Welcome to the wonderful world of chinese hamsters! They do love weeing in their wheels :) I find chinese are quiet but lovely little pets. They certainly aren't as food-orientated as Syrians and few of mine will take treats from my hand although most will happily climb over me and snuggle into the crook of my arm. I sympathise about the lack of chinese hamster info - it's something I found when I was starting out. There is a good article on the Southern Hamster Club website and also i have info on my website. If you have any questions, just ask. There's nothing we love more than talking about hamsters! :lol:
