The new chinese boy

most of you know that today i was due to bring home a little normal chinese boy from Vectishams.
Unfortunately yesterday he was found to have diabetes. Although Rachel kindly gave me the choice to still take him on if i really wanted, we agreed it was for the best that he stayed with her.
Its likely that he could become very ill and need regular vet visits, aswell as a specialist diet. I have no experience with chinese let alone diabetes so as gutted as i was i knew he couldn't have been staying with a better mummy :)

Rachel kindly offered me another chinese dom spot boy from the same litter, who she had planned on keeped for show but in the change of circumstances (none of the litter would be able to be bred from) and he came home with me:mrgreen:
His name is Bacardi, as named by Rachel, i decided it suited him well so its staying. He is beautiful and so wonderful to handle, both him and his brother were snuggled in my coat today!

I was also planning to enter the normal boy into kingswinford, but he was withdrawn and Bacardi was entered under my name instead.
He won 1st chinese dom spot, 1st Junior, 2nd novice and 2nd small hamstery today :-D

That was a truly honourable thing for the breeder to do and I complement her on her honesty and dedication to her breeding programme.

I wish i couldve stayed longer to see him..perhaps i did but didnt recognise him!!! Like i said...u ahve a knack for getting winners :)

He has taken very well to the wooden house at the moment so i only got a few quick pics when he was exploring the sand bath and wheel. Now hes been left in peace.

He has already pooped on his wheel (i can tell hes gonna be a dirty boy already :roll:)
He seems a bit bewildered at the moment the poor guy :D

Aw, Mel, he really looks like he's settling in well. I'm sure he enjoys having a purple silent spinner to pee in just like he had here :) He totally deserved to win today, and I'm so chuffed for you in your first main class entry. You forgot to announce that you won Junior Best in Show. Usually there's a rosette for that at the end, but it seems not today :( I hope he wins many more classes for you. I know he's going to be super spoiled and you'll treat him like a little prince.

Last night i noticed he was up so i sat up to look closer and my bed creaked, he shot from his wheel to his house like a bullet the poor little guy!
Hes very curious but hes just not quite sure if i'm safe yet :)
I got some food and placed my hand and arm in the cage, he did come over and investigate but he wouldn't take the food.
Hes also a bit too fond of his wooden house now and is going back to it whenever i say hello, so i took that out while i was introducing myself and i think i'll have to do that everytime.

Might see if he can be scooped into a playbox tonight, but i won't bother him too much :)

Aw, bless him. Maybe everyone saying he's yummy has got him worried that someone's going to eat him! Good idea to whip out his house - he was like that here (but I'm mean and just used to pick him up out of his nest, after checking he was awake).

Had a my first handle this morning and i think i've figured that i'm being more cautious then him :mad:

So i went ahead and got him out this evening and well i think hes really proven how lovely he is <3
