Photos No Longer Showing Up - Page 2

No clue what is causing it but it started doing this on my C-16 litter thread last Saturday but then when I clicked on the given link the pictures did come up on my screen as a separate photo not attached to the Forum. We've been having some huge size photos so perhaps it is a way the Forum keeps the amount of photo size down when close to over loaded. This is why I resize all my photos to 500 pixels in size as it uses less space for more photos for us to enjoy.

I also delete old old thread photos to free up space for other members photos

i have started to notice this on various threads i thought it was just my computer but guess not, hope it gets sorted

I know I thought it was just me having the problem too. I've noticed on other threads too, at first I thought it was because it was taking a while to load, but I tried on multiple devices but had the same problem. I even tried logging out and logging back in again.

When I clicked on one of the images I noticed it was very large- so Nancy's Hamsters may be right about the file sizes.

Ok, I didn't realise how large the pictures actually were, so I have resized the photos to 620 pixels the smallest my photo editing software can go, so now the pictures have a file size of around 32.4KB instead of 97.1KB it was before. Is this ok or are they still too large? If they are ok how would I be able to reattach the pictures to my original posts?

Edit - I just found out that I can do customise picture size so I can make them even smaller. So what size would be best?

I usually resize mine to either 500 or 600 pixels wide.

The best thing to do is to host the pictures on another site first (like photobucket) then a moderator can edit the thread to put the links to the new images in.

I will resize the pictures to 500 pixel so they will use up less space on the forum. If I reposted the pictures in the thread could a moderator move them to the post they used to be in or can this only be done with photo bucket?

Yes that would work too, if you re-attached them to a new post in the relevant thread, we could merge the 2 posts together.

Edit - I have another thread in which the pictures in the thread are quite large could it be possible for me to resize these picture to and have them replaced? Sherbet's Playtime Photos - I have reposted the pictures on this thread to)
