Re: What`s going on with log in`s?
Internet Explorer 11 is my browser. Thing is though, I havn`t changed the way I delete things and have deleted before and nothing changed using the same routes? It seems to be that this morning, this new Home page banner that appeared inviting people to join the community stated that it appeared that I had never posted before? That told me that it didn`t recognise me somehow? But I wasn`t logged in anyway so how could it state this without me being logged in? Maybe my wee brain isn`t techie enough to understand all the in`s and out`s of this but I just expected to be able to log in normally but came up against being asked to change my password! Which I`ve had to do twice, but it seems I can log in now, albeit it takes me longer as I have to type everything in manually unless IE asks me if I want it to remember my log in details, which it hasn`t done so far. x

While it does sound like a browser issue, I will have a look. If you run into the problem again, please use the contact form to let me know.

Re: What`s going on with log in`s?
It is your EI 11 doing that as if I use my MIL PC to show her adorable Hamster pics she has IE 11 and it makes me click the remember me box in order to log in every time. If I click the remember me box I still have to click on Todays post before it will recognize my Form ID and PW. I have EI 8 running on this PC and even it makes me type in all the forum info every time but once typed it welcomes Nancy's Hamsters show me any PMs waiting and the number of unread post. But not with EI 11 I have type all my ID and PW and then I have to click the remember me box, and THEN the log in tab in order to log in and then click the unread post line to show I'm actually logged in.

Re: What`s going on with log in`s?
Thanks for that Nancy`s Hamsters. It`s given me some indication now that it is my IE browser, although I`ve been using IE11 for a while now and this issue has only just come up. That`s why I wondered if this new banner appearing may have caused any compatibility issues for me. It seems I can log in now but doing what you do, typing in my full username, password manually and `ticking` the remember me box and then `log in`. It`s been fine three times now so hopefully it`s sorted. Just a bit frustrating that I had to ask for a change of password twice! I was getting to the point of giving up and that would have saddened me if I couldn`t be a member anymore due to a technical glitch. x

Re: What`s going on with log in`s?
I've been seeing that message too, RH. But it hasn't stopped me from logging on. I also was wondering why it was saying I had never been on HC before too. But that is only when I haven't signed in yet. Once signed in, everything is fine.

Re: What`s going on with log in`s?
I`ve managed to sign in okay today with my new password and usual username but I`m still baffled at why this new screen message (may or may not have) had some influence on this or not. Before it appeared, I logged in and out without a hitch. I`m wondering why some members seem not to be affected. Nobody else seems to have had this problem? x

Re: What`s going on with log in`s?
RH it could be you had cap lock on and didn't notice or your key board stuck creating an incorrect PW. I use Mozilla Fire Fox except when I am playing Games on Gamesgames.com and working on my family barn. FF will freeze up playing that game where IE8 doesn't though Pogo games won't even acknowledge IE8 LOL. Since this PC is a born in 1999 PC it can't support any windows beyond XP and has no free space to update IE beyond 8.
I do get the new banner alerting new guest that they are guest unless they create a user name and PW. I just ignore it because I know I am not new LOL.

Re: What`s going on with log in`s?
Thanks Nancy. I`m inclined to think it`s something I have done but since I am able to log in now, albeit it takes me longer as I have to type my whole details into both sign in boxes now, it`s better than being locked out! I don`t see anyone else asking about this so I guess it was me or my system that messed things up. When I went to type the first letter of my username `r` into the first sign in box, it usually opened my whole details and then I just logged in. So IE seemed not to recognise this on that day, which tells me something somewhere was deleted. Not sure how though....x

Re: What`s going on with log in`s?
OK decided to use IE8 this morning to log in and not sure if this may be more information for Fluffy or not BUT it appears on IE(whatever version) the automatic log off is not logging us off after a length of idol time. Very unlike when I am on Firefox where when I am answering a PM and sorta take too long it does. When I came on HC via IE8 this morning at 10:14AM my time I was a bit shocked and sorta amused that I was still logged on to HC even after a WEEK of not using IE to access HC. I had to leave Mom's quickly and just turned off her guest portion of her PC thinking I would be auto logged off.
The weirdest parts is I had to still log in when using Firefox on My PC and was still logged in to HC BUT I am not at Mom's I am on my home PC and still logged in. Now I'm not a PC Tech but it seems if I'm logged in to HC I am logged in wither I am using either server and should have had the notice on both servers when I attempted to enter via IE being I am not on the PC which was used to log in via IE. Could this be a hacker attempt on IE?

Re: What`s going on with log in`s?
Interesting Nancy. I started to think I`d deleted something which resulted in my log in details being lost or scrambled, yet all of the other sites I log into (two different forums), the log in details all remain the same? No changes, no problems? As I said, it`s only HC I had trouble with and had to request a new password twice before I could log in again successfully and now I have to type my whole address in as it doesn`t `remember me` like it used to.
So I`m still a bit baffled as to why my details didn`t stay as they were? Doesn`t seem as if anyone else was affected though, which again is strange.....unless some members are still trying to log in and can`t! x
