I don't think there should be a disagree button as if people fall out with others on the forum it could be used in the wrong way

Also it could become a popularity contest

If we just have a like button then those that like a comment can like & those that would rather not like the post don't.

I have to agree with this. If the purpose of the button is to express opinion without creating new posts and boosting pointless boards, I would say that having a disagree button would go against this.

If you disliked my post I'd instinctively post again wanting to know why Silver is such a meanie

Only joking obviously, but it stands to reason that it would happen in a lot of cases.

The simple 'thanks' or 'like' button works well on other forums.
