I have to agree with this. If the purpose of the button is to express opinion without creating new posts and boosting pointless boards, I would say that having a disagree button would go against this.

If you disliked my post I'd instinctively post again wanting to know why Silver is such a meanie

Only joking obviously, but it stands to reason that it would happen in a lot of cases.

The simple 'thanks' or 'like' button works well on other forums.

I have thought/wanted a like button for ages on here and think it would be a great idea, but no i see no need for a thumbs down or dislike button - if you like it great if you don't then don't like!
Because I have now joined facebook hamster pages i am so used to liking a post and sometimes instinctivly go to like something on here then remember that I can't.

The mods are wondering how many people realise they can rate a thread?
At the top of the thread on the right is a 'rate thread' where you can give 1-5 stars.
We are not aware of this being used very much so wonder if folks do know it is there or if a 'thanks button' would go much the same way as the thread rating button.
We do discuss everything fully

I'd personally not noticed you can rate a thread although I think the idea of a thank you button is being able to acknowledge an individuals comment rather than a whole thread?
