Hamster Central Theme
It's boring Joke! It's a good theme but, I have to say, it's been the same for a long time and I for one thing we could do with a fresh new theme to brighten the place up a bit! I expect a few other members will agree with me too, HC could do with some freshening up, certainly seeing as there has been so much hostility lately (I know I havent been posting recently but I have been coming on and other members have said to me that the atmosphere has been a bit grumpy as of late).
What do you think?
We could always have a competition for graphics as well - say people make some headers and the new theme is based on the winning header. I can do graphics and website design (I've designed forums and blogs) and I doubt I'm the only one who would make up a header/banner for HC.
No need to get rid of the current theme, just add the new one to the list of available themes

Re: Hamster Central Theme
I quite like how it is, I mean some forums change the theme and it's hard to adjust too or just doesn't look as good as before.
I see no reason why not though as long as there's still an option to keep this original theme.

Re: Hamster Central Theme
I do like this idea
But it could be a lot of work for Fluffy to put it all together. But then i don't know anything about vBulletin forums
I would defiantly make some stuff for it if it did happen. It would be really nice to have a theme made by the members

I've seen some pretty awful themes out there thats for sure!!
It's easy to add new themes and for people to choose between themes from the drop down list on the bottom left hand corner of the forum. I know some forums who have loads of themes, I was on a forum who had a different theme for each season which was really cool

Re: Hamster Central Theme
You need to put this to admin (Fluffy) A lot of work went into the design when fluffy took over the forum and it is a recognisable logo which I doubt he will want to give up. Possibly you don't realise how much work it requires to change such things behind the scenes and fluffy has a very young family to think about at the moment. I don't think it is needed personally but always worth asking.
I hate dealing with change and would get all confused LOL

Re: Hamster Central Theme
I like the idea, but I'm worried about a new theme not being easy on the eyes (or at least it could be an option to select another theme or stay with the current one). I'd personally love to be able to select a dark (black-gray-silver) color scheme (with white font on dark background, for example).

I know how much work goes into it - as I said I've designed forum themes before. I've used vB 3 and 4, IPB, SMF and phpBB3, I'm currently doing some design stuff for one of the largest Pagan forums.
The design could merely be a colour variation of this theme, which would minimise the amount of work needed to be done and still be recognisable. I could whip up colour variations for all images in a couple of hours.
Doesn't mean change - just means it gives people more options and could possibly help to get people out of the rut the forum seems to be in.
It's just a suggestion anyway - do I need to PM fluffy or does he come on the forum?

Re: Hamster Central Theme
I like the theme. It's all natural. I get confused with CoCa (initials for another forum I'm on) randomly decide to change the theme at times and I sit there like "What?"
The forum I'm a mod on is discussing changing the theme. It's all very complicated and I tend to just sit and nod at those sort of things.
