Your thoughts on community involvement are interesting though - maybe that is something that can be looked at.
Getting the community working together for something is always good Maybe thats why I sometimes seem like I'm sticking my nose in where forums and that are concerned, I'm not afraid to voice my opinion lol!

Your idea about a change in theme being choose-able I think suits everyone (except Fluffy, who'll have to do all the work ). That way those who fancy "mixing things up a bit" can change their colours and what-have-you. Where as us old-fashioned stuck-in-the-muds, can keep the brown and earthy look.

And some of you guys are AWESOME with creating images and stuff, perhaps we could run a "how would you like HC to look?" competition, even without the promise of it becoming a theme?

The hamster of the month competition is just that and not necessarily a photograhic competition. It may be that a hamster is voted in because it has endured illness, won an award, be particularly cute, have passed on but had a wonderful character, helped it's owner through hard times etc. and this is why we ask for a few lines of information on the entrant.
It is really up to everyone how they judge the competition and how they vote.
I'm sure fluffy will have a look at the thread and post his comments.
The forum atmousphere comes from the members and what they make it though and not the layout. I know it has been difficult for a few weeks now but I think we have gone over the hill with those problems and things are good again
