Re: Hamster Central Theme
I like the theme. Its like home. I don't think changing the theme will change the atmosphere here, but its an interesting idea.

Re: Hamster Central Theme
I too like the theme - i wasn't sure initially but really quite like it now. The atmosphere is down to the members, the colour or design won't change that.

Re: Hamster Central Theme
I don't mind the theme, it's just the colours.
I get so bored of things like this, im forever changing my wallpaper on both my laptop and phone, always changing the 'sounds' and colours on my laptop also aha, i just get bored, it would be nice to just keep the same layout just different colours

I like the theme - I do think its a tad dull but its easy to read and the hamsters at the top right of the forum always make me smile lol.
You would be suprised as to what revamping forums can do though - obviously its not a solution but it sure can help. I'm a member of a forum thats just changed software - since the change loads of older members have come back, new members are joining and the feel of the forum has improved dramatically. They have changed software a few times in the 10 years they have been open and the revamp has always made an amazing difference. It stops the forum becoming stagnant.
Think of it this way - you break up with a boyfriend or girlfriend and to help you move on you change something - your clothes, or your home, maybe even just redecorating a bedroom. Those small changes can make a massive difference to how you feel. It's the whole fresh start thing.
If no one agrees with me, or doesnt want to have a freshen up of the forum or anything like that then, I personally think that other ideas need to be put forward to get the atmosphere back to the happier one it was once, maybe a project that all members can contribute to or some different competitions (the current one seems to have gone a bit sour - lots of favouritism and people only voting for a hamster because its sadly passed away, rather than it being a great photograph. I'm not the only one who thinks this).

Re: Hamster Central Theme
i like the neutral colours of the theme as it is; it is distinctive, but it blends into the background and allows photos / signatures in colour to stand out. I would still be on here just as much if the theme was to change though!

I defiantly agree with this. Whenever there is a community project or comp everyone seems nicer and friendlier
And its fun

I don't think people are only voting for hamsters because they passed away. Snickers became HOTM after she passed but people voted for her because of her personality and how brave she was throughout the illness. I think that's a bit of a quick judgement. :/
