As you mentioned Pets at Home, I'm assuming you're in the UK. If so, then you have numerous options.
Wood shavings are fine, as wood in the UK is kiln dried. There's also hemp/aubiose, Megazorb, Fitch paper bedding, and my own choice, teabag bedding from Carcroft pet supplies.
Have a look at each, and decide for yourself which would be best for you.
