Hello, there is a possibility that your hamster is just tired of being in his cage, because he might just want to be active. Try getting a hamster ball or a playpen for him to excercise in during the day, and then he'll be quieter and calmer at night. If this doesn't work, you should consider getting him a larger cage, or more toys such as tunnels and bridges.
