Victoria Raechel had a similar problem many years ago! She stopped using the cage after losing 4 hamsters (each died a couple months after she got them) and everything was fine. I'm curious to know what the cage is made of as some processed wood (Can't recall what type) was recently listed as dangerous because of the chemicals used to make it. I'm so sorry to hear about this it sounds heart breaking!
