Dried shrimps/prawns are safe for hamsters. They are a low fat protein source (whereas dried mealworms are high fat so not great in large quantities). Just make sure the dried shrimps are 100% dried shrimp with no additional ingredients.if you can get freeze dried they are better nutritionally (often found as cat treats)
Depending on what species of hamster you have they might be a hit or miss. My russian dwarf loved them whereas all but 1 of my syrians liked them My other syrians were disgusted that I was even offering the shrimp to them. So if you can get a small amount to try first if possible.
