I got my first hamster today, a male Syrian. I've always had rabbits and guinea-pigs but this is my first hamster and I'm a bit overwhelmed because I've realised despite doing research I don't really know what I'm doing. His cage came with a wheel but I've been told it will probably be too small for him as he grows. Can anyone recommend a suitable wheel for him? Also in his cage I've put a deep layer of bedding so he can dig into it and he's got 3 little houses stuffed with bedding, two little gnaw toys, some wooden stick things that bend and I put a toilet roll tube in there. Can anyone recommend anything else? He's been out with me, he's suprisingly chilled and has quite happily explored the living room and sat with me on the sofa but I've now left him in peace because he's had a long day!
