Definitely do a vet check, I'd say. Syrians typically live on the longer side of 2 years, often hitting three. Yeah, you'd expect a slow down after 1, being middle aged, but that shouldn't justify her other behaviours.

My boy slowed a bit during the winter months. I found investing in a maxi-mini thermometer helped a lot. I used a dehumidifer to take the cold water out the air and ensured the room was constantly heated.

I would say a vet check is honestly in order though.
