It's not silly to worry about it. I always like to do something meaningful after they die (in my case burying them in a nice spot in the garden).

A vet can cremate a pet, either in a group with other pets, which is cheaper but you don't get any ashes back. Or you can pay for an individual cremation where you get the ashes back.

If you have a small patio or balcony or similar you could bury a hamster In a very large plant pot.
