If he’s in a small cage I think he’d be perfectly happy in a Hamster Heaven but also in a 100cm cage with no levels (or only a very low one). And could have another 9 months and a burst of happy life on a better environment.

It would probably be a good idea though to put the smaller cage as it is, inside the new larger one for a week or so and let him venture out from there and adjust to the bigger cage. That works quite well.

I think of course you should get him - I’m guessing you’re worrying about taking on another one that you won’t be rehoming. He probably does need to stay out his life in one place now.

If it’s a choice between getting him and rehoming him or letting him go somewhere else I can see the dilemma. I think you should get him and keep him - if you can.

The thing that bothered me was that the previous home is the 2nd. I did pick the hamster up and he/she are gonna live here for the rest of the life.
