That is so heartwarming Hams was so excited to see you return! I just don't get some of the hamster myths out there, he remembered you and the house, clearly missed you, went back to his old routines, hamsters are pretty smart and capable of reciprocating the love we give them.
I'm glad you two are reunited, and everything went so well.
