It wasn't clever of me
I copied it from a German hamster forum at the time. I had never done much diy before and it seemed a huge task but was actually quite easy.
I didn't want to keep relying on asking OH to saw things so got this little saw - which just does dowels (only just!).
I'm a dab hand with sandpaper now as well! And you need some of that to rub the rough edges after sawing them (or for any wood with rough bits) - only takes seconds. The 240 grade makes it incredibly smooth and literally takes seconds.
