Re: Rodney is sick.
I'm trying to figure something out for him because he's not happy in the downstairs playground. He tried to tell me last night by continuously climbing up my front. Then he sat on my shoulder, walked round my neck. I know that he wanted me to carry him upstairs.
He sniffs an awful lot. So i think that he misses the scent of the other hamsters. I think what i'll do is hoover downstairs, put the upstairs blanket down and let Clive loose for a while. Clive throws himself about scenting. I bought a new 30cm flying saucer for Rodney and hopefully Clive will have a go.
Hopefully Rodney will be happier when he can sniff out the scent of another hamster and scent over it himself.
Well, that's my theory.
It worked with a foster Syrian who was very outgoing and lively here but turned all quiet and shy in his new home. After a couple of weeks of our hamsters having a go but not really liking that wheel he used a lot while here, i gave it to him without washing it.
He really came out of his shell then and was way too tempted to sniff that familiar wheel then to stay in his lovely big habitat all the time.
