Default Re: Flummoxed by the pantry moth

Hmm. Maybe it was too hot in the house and it wanted out ha ha. I don't think moths are very clever. Or - maybe it flew out by mistake when the door was open and trying to get back in again.

Is that one definitely a pantry moth or one of the other types? It has the look/shape but I've had quite a few small normal moths in the house since the hot weather and they're not the pantry ones. I still squish them just in case so they don't produce!

As mentioned before, I had them all in the food cupboards but found some were different- carpet moths - they were just all over the floor round the cage! But at night they'd just sit on walls and ceilings. I think they only go for the food to lay the eggs.

Although come to think of it they must eat something!
