sorry for the lack of update its been months of vet visits to try and find an answer but here is what ended up happening. I first called the vets to make an appointment and they said i needed to be sure that it was in her pee so I spent a week monitoring her trying to see her actually pee red. I witnessed her do it and then made an appointment. At the first appointment the vet said it was likely a UTI so she was put onto baytril to clear it out. It cleared up for a few weeks and then went back to red so I tried to make a vets appointment but didn’t get one for several weeks. I finally managed to get an appointment and took her in and they put her under anaesthesia and told me that they found a massive lump and she likely had a large bladder stone which would need surgery to be removed.
I took her in 5 days later for the xray to determine what the lump was and for a referral to the hamster specialist for surgery. I had to leave her there and 9 hours later they told me that there was no lump and she was completely fine despite them being the ones to tell me there was a lump in the first place. I’m honestly not sure if I should get a second opinion or not but i will keep monitoring her to see if she continues bleeding and if she does I will be taking her straight to a different vets.
