If anyone in the future comes on this thread and has the same problem, my advice would be to take them to the vet. It's been a year and I haven't seen a single bug since the vet visit.
My biggest guess is that he already had the bugs at the store and probably the hamsters that stayed in the same cage as he did got the bugs as well. Just a guess.
