I’m not a vet so I’m not sure what exactly a broken nail vs. toe looks like, but many rodents break their nail which can result in an infection.

Your pictures look similar to an infected one I saw online. If the toe is getting worse, I would recommend taking your hamster to the vet for some kind of antibiotics if they feel it’s necessary, or to check if it’s hurt worse than the nail
