Aw poor Percy. I'm sure the Metacam is helping. It sounds like he definitely needs a soft food diet if he can't open his mouth properly. Soaked science selective biscuits are good. I just put 3 or 4 on a baby food lid and just a few drops of boiled kettle water - they go soft and mushy in about 5 to 10 mins. That way they get all the nutrients required, but can still pouch and hoard their regular hamster mix (even if he can't eat it) and still have normal behaviours. And they enjoy the supplements (the baby food and soaked science selective).
