Re: Healthy/Organic treats
Holland and Barrett is a good place to look for puffed or flaked grains, as well as seeds, to use as treats or in your hamster's diet. I bought some wheatgerm from them and mix it with a little water to make a kind of porridge. Wheatgerm is high in protein and various vitamins.
Otherwise I feed pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, mealworms, goji berries, oats, nuts etc. Cereals such as cheerios or cornflakes can be good treats though avoid any with added sugar. I buy commercial treats if they aren't too processed. For example I have some Beaphar dried apple pieces at the moment and I've found yoghurt drops with no added sugar in the past. Many of the Rosewood products are quite good. I tend to get them for special treats. For example for a gerbil's birthday the other month I got some berry treat sticks and the flower, fruit & veg bars.
