I get sad too, but we can only do what we can do, if people won't or don't want to listen we can only lead by example and yes we all make mistakes, but it's learning from them that makes the difference for our little ones.
I'm trying to think who it was, maybe someone on Instagram I don't think it was on here, she created leaflets for her local rescues/shelters and/or vets and i think they let them put them up on the notice boards or gave them to people adopting the hamsters so they knew all the basics around cage size, wheel size, food, bedding etc.
and I agree with you the pet shops have a lot to answer to.
