I don't tame by using my hands for food. Food's in a bowl or to be foraged for but that's just the way i see it.

Hands are for picking up, carrying, petting and most importantly, a means to get out of the cage. That's the message i give to my hamsters while taming.

I don't think there's a set method because every hamster is different. Whatever works for you and your hamster is the right method.
