I think if you need a holiday cage, just budget the price into the cost of the holiday and get the best solution that will work for the hamster
He has to live in it and not get too stressed. Presumably he won't be getting much out of cage time that week and will be with different people and in a different place. So the best environment for him would be important. I'd go with the zoozone even though it's a bit pricey, use current wheel and toys and house from current cage.
