I'd go with this (Hamster Sky) - it's cheaper than the Hamster heaven but the same size. But remove the external tubes and block them off (the cage comes with hole blockers).

Your hamster is used to being in a large cage so anything smaller wouldn't be good.

For taking to another house, the base stacks quite neatly inside the bars to make a shallow package to transport. Take a load of bedding in a bag from his old cage, and a bag of toys, wheel etc any other cage contents and set the cage up when you get to the friend's house.

So the bedding and toys and wheel will smell familiar when he goes in there. It's a good spare cage to have and easy to store. You won't get anything new for less than about £50 I reckon.
