Hope your hamster settles in well
They need about a two week settling in period without too much change while they're scent marking and adjusting to the cage, so best not to do any clean outs for the first two weeks. You can spot clean the pee area maybe after a week (or use a litter tray - that works well). Taming can be slow at first as well. Just time and patience. Had our Syrian for 3 weeks now and taming is going very slowly! He loves coming out for out of cage time but is scared of hands.
