Cloudy I use cork logs with my robo, I think because they are long and wide so the weight is spread out over a much larger area than say a way heavier ceramic hide. Also if need be a cork log is chewable whereas a ceramic hide isn't.
Also, the only time I have had a hamster wee in a cork log was when I submerged one under the bedding, I fixed that by sawing it in half, never been a problem on top of the surface.
It's always good to watch your hamster when you first put them in a new cage setup just to make sure they don't get up to something they shouldn't be
