I meant to add that when i was 17 i had a guinea pig and then went off to nursing school which was live in and quite a distance away. I had no choice but to leave the guinea pig in the care of my mother who became very fond of the guinea pig. The guinea pig was then very much my mother's pet and totally ignored me when i was home. He only responded to my mother and didn't like my father who was a very nice man.
