Hamsters do not get lonely. They can have a bond with their person and want to interact. I used to have beta fish. They lived alone but always wanted my attention and to interact.

Maybe posting a picture of your cage would be helpful? That way people can give you some more advice and tips.

Pet shops put hamsters together in cages which can be okay when babies but then they will fight.
