My Roborovski Dwarf Hamster does something similar as yours done. She reaches out and drags any toilet tissue nearby and drags it inside her home then she barricades the opening. To me she is displaying the 'remove welcome mat' and 'shut the door' behavior. If she could hang a sign it would probably read 'Do not Disturb'. I agree with what others are saying on this behavior, it's nothing personal the hamster simply wants some 'alone' time.
