I also forgot to tell. Diabetes causes overeating. In ideal we should change ham’s food every 2-3 days. Cause healthy hamster doesn’t eat that fast. Idk maybe Syrians do. Just learn how to control his amount of food intake. Im not sure about this one, i never had a syrian hammer) just in case ask a vet . Good luck
