Sunflower seeds really wouldn't lead to an infection. In moderation they're an incredibly healthy food that hamsters(and other pets that are capable of digesting them) should be allowed to consume.

Don't use human medication. At the very least it won't help, but at the worst it can be severely toxic or potentially lead to an overdose and ultimately put you in an even worse position than you're already in.

Consulting an actual vet via email as Ria P has suggested is a great thing to do. Worst case scenario you might still have to travel and see a vet in person if needed so do keep that in mind. I know travelling to see a vet isn't ideal especially with a hamster, but proper veterinary care is crucial for the welfare and safety of your hamster.
