Yes, a 7 day course is what i would go for as well because other antibiotics have been tried.

I don't know if hamsters can get infections that are antibiotic resistant like MRSA in humans.

Whatever you do, you are acting in Roc's best interest but i so understand what it's like to wake a hamster up to administer medication. Luckily, they seem to forget quickly and don't lose their trust in us.
